Esse brushed her fingers up against the pegicorn then grabbed onto his mane, pulling herself lightly onto his back again. "Well it looks like our friends are up now, Des."

" Correction, your friends are awake." Desumo said noticing the pegicorns avoidance of him. " As I predicted, they fear me again because of that jolt. No matter, I can walk. Shall we be off? "

Esse sighed, knowing he was right. Why must they avoid him...? Poor Desumo probably feels left out.
"Yeah we should get going...whatever's down that hallway is making these guys anxious. We should be heading down it."

"Lets get going before the adrenaline wears off." Desumo said. The pegicorn's rejection stung him but he was ok with it. Many animals feared Elementals for their abilites and Desumo had gotten use to it. Desumo started down the hall. " Can you at least keep them from gallopping ahead? I'd like for us to stay at the same pace."

She nodded. "They'll stay with me...I think. They like me for some reason."
Essetai started to walk after Desumo, her footsteps light and springy like before. She frowned a little as a thought came to her mind. She realized she kept expecting the sound of crunching snow underfoot.

Desumo stopped to let Esse catch up. He notice her sad face. "What's the matter?" He asked, they were on the adventure she wanted so how could she be sad.

"It's nothing...just a little bit of homesickness I suppose. It's odd to not hear the sound of snow under your feet when you're so used to it. I don't ever even notice...but now that it isn't there I feel kind of odd."

"Yeah I know how you feel, sometimes I miss Enra. But that leads to the importance of our deal, that way we can both see home again." Desumo said. Then he had a though that might comfort Esse. "You want to switch it around a little? We'll take the long way and go through Hoku first and if i can go through there we'll agree you can go through Seido."

She blinked. "Hoku first? Really? Can we?" Esse perked up at the promise of snow again. Her red dragon tail twitched back and forth, the yellowy fur on the end sweeping the floor and kicking up little bits of dust.

Desumo smiled " Yes we can. I can wait to see Enra." He said. Desumo looked at her tail. " You seem to really be cleaning the floor there."

She laughed. "I think I'm just excited is all... It'll be nice to feel the icy winds whipping through my hair again. I know my hair's not so long but you get the idea of it. Home is home... and I'll be able to calm everyone down. I know people are worried."

" Exactly how long have you been gone?" Desumo asked. He wondered how long they had been searching for Esse. " we can also pick you up an Ice Blade, surely that would help to keep you cool in Seido."

She grinned at the thought of holding an ice blade in her hand again. Her tail kept sweeping along the ground happily. Then her smile fell. "I've been gone for months...I've lost count. It takes a long time to get from Hoku to here."

"Years? ...How could you ever stand being away for so long?" Esse asked. A question then crossed her mind. "Hey Des...how old are you, anyway? I know Elementals can live for a long time so I'm curious."
