The leader started trotting forward, breaking into a canter when the tunnel became wider. It was straight, and all covered with the blue light. The other pegicorns followed behind, so Esse now ended up behind Desumo. Don't worry. the leader thought. Sirata won't let you fall. As they rounded a corner, hurtling through the dim light, they suddenly entered a large cavern. There was a bright blue light coming from the centre, although what was emitting it was not yet visible.

Esse blinked. "Serata? ...Is that your name?" she asked the pegicorn beneath her. She squinted to see through the bright blue light. "Woah? What is all this light coming from?" She recognized some coming from the runes...but this much light should not have been possible from the small numbers. Something else had to be illuminating the place.

Des squinted his eyes, waiting for them to adjust to the light. " I don't know, but I got a feel ing we're gonna find out." He said. Maybe it's some kind of altered Sparks spell. What were the elders up to?

She sighed, annoyed. Her eyes should be used to the blinding light because of how many years she had watched the rising sun reflect off snow. It shouldn't have effected her.

Des's eyes were begining to adjust. He looked around the room, though he still couldn't see too well.I don't like this, what if wheatever makes this light isn't friendly.

She muttered something until her eyes cleared. It hadn't been a spell, more like a chant or something. Essetai smiled at her vision finally returning then squinted down the hallway. "So..." This can't be good...If it blinds me it has to be magic of some kind. The runes? Or something else?

The light dimmed slightly, and a strip of wall could be seen that was bright with ruins. There seemed to be little on it... apart from rune after rune. There is a solid wall ahead and a monster behind, and only three Pegicorns for company. What should we do? One of the Pegicorns asked.

Esse heard the voice and started to put her powers of perception to work. "Well I think we should press on...would the Circle Elders put so many runes somewhere if it were wrong? ...And I doubt if they put a beast down here it would attack friendly people. However there is the flipside as well. It might be a wild animal. Des, what are your thoughts?"

Des absorbed all around him for a moment. " I think This is some kind of test." Des said. " I'm not quite sure how it all connects together but a test would make sense. I don't think the Elders would place something as potentially powerful as the stone legend in the hands of someone who couldn't handle it nor someone who was evil. Animals can sense good and bad intentions, when not blinded by shear fear." Des shot a glance at the pegicorns. "This beast would explain that, it's meant to unblindingly sense intentions. That is, if it isn't a random creature who lives here. Should it be a test then where would the test of strength come in?"

Des gave a smile. " Nope, I rarely do." He said. " I guess we could think of one if the chance presents itself, but since we don't know what to expect we should just plan as we go."
