Kjara padded across the treeline and looked out across the barren landscape. <What have they done?> she asked.

Rajira lowered her tail and wings sadly. Destruction...endlessly. Acres and acres gone! Her voice turned to a snarl. I'll kill Amett for this!

<But why?> Kjara wondered. <Do you think they captured your daughter?> she asked.

We have found no sign of her. It is all too likely they did...and I do not know why. Rajira said. Sadness took up her entire voice. But because of this I will travel with you. As a friend, not a pet.

<I would not ask you to travel as a pet. We should see if we can find a house or hut. Somewhere where they might keep someone prisoner.>

I doubt it...with Amett any prisoners that are taken are brought straight to him where judgement is passed. Even for animals they would be taken to his base. She is gone.

<Don't think that. She hasn't been gone long. We must at least look.>

Rajira sighed. I am sorry...I'm being grim. Alright we will look.

<We will still find her, and then you can decide what you want to do, whether or not you want to travel with us.> Kjara looked ahead brightly.

Alright... she agreed. She wasn't nearly as bright as Kjara was, feeling quite dejected.

Kjara took the first step into the broken landscape, walking purposely through the felled tree stumps, keeping an eye on the horizon for a building.

Rajira opened her wings and flew up on top of one of the stumps. She jumped from stump to stump, traveling along the landscape that way.

Kjara opened her wings and flew along behind Rajira, keeping up easily. She was suprised that Kintir hadn't woken up yet.

Rajira had come to the time idea. Your mouse friend is unusually silent... And he's sleeping a lot.

<I guess he's catching up with the sleep he hasn't had for the past few weeks, where he was insisiting that he didn't need it.>
