In the land of Amaru, four prominent holidays also act as ways to mark time. They are the spring equinox, also known as the Newbirth, the summer solstice, also known as the Day of the Brightsun, the autumn equinox, also known as Leaffall, and the winter solstice, also known as Darkest Night. It is not certain who started the holidays, but signs point to the Saplus, since the methods used to determine the day of the holidays use the Sacred Forest.
Leaffall: The autumn equinox is marked by the largest tree in the Sacred Forest starting to change color. It was, anyway, and is now determined by the flight of birds migrating to Minami. Celebrated: Autumn Equinox
How they are celebrated: As each sign is found, the celebrations begin. Many people hold banquets, tournaments, and other events to celebrate. Many farmers abandon their work for the day, and apprentices are released for the day. Some continue with their work, but many do not. Instead, most of the population plunges into games, competitions, and other events which vary by year and region.
