Appearance: She is tall and she has dark red hair. It is long and wavy, coming down almost to her hips. Her figure is slender and her eyes a slightly cat shaped and brown. She is always seen carrying a long staff and a sword. Her staff however is just a weapon. It carries no magical powers. She is always wearing a silver necklace with a crystal. She also has a tail that looks like a fox tail, and fox ears. She has wings that are slightly blue tinted.
Background: Tamara doesn't remember her parents at all, as she was very young when she wandered off in between the palm trees. She was kidnapped, and taken to a little underground house on the mainland. She stayed there until she was six. One day, she came across a fox den. When nobody was looking, she crept into the den with them, and escaped through the fox tunnels. None of the patrolling guards knew where she was, and so couldn't catch her until the foxes led her a decent distance from her captors.
While traveling, she discovered that she had forged a special connection with animals. She could sense what they were feeling, and she could bond her mind with theirs, allowing her to talk to them. She was 13 when she discovered this ability. She is very wary of any new or strange people, as she can't understand what they are feeling.
On her 16th birthday, she decided to travel back to Tengal, and see if she could find her family. She was originally stopped by the armed guards which patrol Tengal's boarders, but when she took of her cloak and they saw her tail and ears they let her through.
She borrowed a small canoe and rowed out to the Golden Stacks to visit the Quental. She asked them if they could find her family, but they told her that her parents had been killed by a great flood in the time she was away. One of the Quental told her that there was something the could make that would be of great use to her, and may eventually save her life. She trusted the 8 village magicians of her tribe, and asked them to make this item. She sat and watched as the Quental prepared the magic, and attempted to make an amulet for her. But the spell went wrong, and Tamara saw the life flood out of the 8 magicians around her. Their power swirled in the air, as the lifeless bodies lay on the floor. Suddenly the little amulet glowed a powerful gold, and the spells in the air around her were sucked into it.
The room fell silent, and Tamara picked the amulet up off the floor, and tied the leather strap around her neck. She carefully closed the eyes of each Quental, before her grief over came her, and she fell to the floor crying.
The next day she awoke, her resolve strengthened. She would use what little she had to try and do good, and save Tengal at least from Amett's power. She didn't want the 8 to have died in vain.
She was captured and taken to the prison camps in Chuukan when she was 17. She escaped once, but was captured again by palace guards out hunting. They searched her thoroughly and found her pendant, sensing it's magic. The best magician of the castle couldn't crack it's secrets, so she was tortured, meant to reveal the pendant's powers. She told them it could heal, but didn't no anything else so the torture continued. The pendant saved her when Amett's spell ruined the camps, but the guards who had tortured her were killed.
Reason for traveling to the Ruins of Time: She wants to find the Stone Legend, and discover what secrets it may hold. She also wants to find a shard of the crystal, because she knows that a single shard in someone else's possession will stop Amett getting full control of Amaru.
