The Road of Revenge and Twilight

The beast swung his head at Larc, and then at Nox. It moved slightly, so that it was blocking the corridor completely. Adura had to move quicly to avoid being trodden on, and she ended up on the other side of the creature. Neither Nox nor Larc had succesfully passed. It didn't attack you, it just stopped you, that's a good sign, although it obviously doesn't think that either of you are totally pure. You can either prove to it that you have good intentions, or you will have to fight your way through... But that wouldn't be any good.

[Jeremy]

"Dang!" Larc sighed. He got back up and stared at it. "Is it blind?" He looked at Nox and sighed. "Fight or Flight, or both?"

[James]

"Neither." Nox said. " We won't run, and I don't want to die today so we won't fight. We do as Adura says." He thought to the last time he did something good. It was when he let Adura have some of his food and sleep with him his first night at the ruins. This gave him an idea. Nox took the remaining food from his pack and placedit in front of the creature. He then stepped back and waited.

[Kjara/Jyotic]

Adura smiled. Nox was bright, and had caught on quickly. They had to try and do something that would prove that they were OK.

The beast bent down slowly, and looked at the food. It turned to Nox. It's piercing eyes looked at him sharply, even though it had no pupils. It growled from the back of its throat, looking at Nox, and shook its head.

Adura looked at Nox and then at the demon. She shook her head at Nox, telling him and Larc to wait, and then turned to the beast's leg. Her little claws gripped the scales easily and she scampered up onto the back of the beast. It noticed her quickly, and began squirm, trying to throw her off. Calm. she said, and the beast stopped. She began to say something privately to the beast which Nox and Larc could not hear.

[Jeremy]

Larcs ears twictched. "What is she? A beast tamer?" He looked at the food on the ground and his stomuch rumbled, but he let it there. He sighed and dug in his pocket. "Do Demons like wood weapons?"

[James]

"I doubt weapons make good peace offerings. Then again I have nothing better try." Nox said. "As for Adura, maybe it only listens to those it approves." He sort of wondered if he would get his food back now that the demon didn't accept it.

[Kjara/Jyotic]

The demon growled again, and shook fiercly, flinging Adura to the floor. Adura squealed and scuttled off into the shadows. The beast snapped up the food with one bite and retreated into a corner.

[Jeremy]

"Adura!" Larc dashed after her and didnt care about what would happen. He got to her and asked, "You ok?" He looked to see if she broke anything.

[James]

Nox walked over casually, grinning that the demon retreated. "You did good Adura." He said. "I don't know what you said but it worked. I can't say I liked the whole getting yourself injured concept if you planned that."

[Kjara/Jyotic]

Adura rolled up and shook herself. I think I'm whole. Come on lets go.

[James]

Nox shrugged and went along with it, following Adura down the corridor. " What did you tell it anyway?"

[Jeremy]

He sighed as Adura just popped up. He tried to make it look like he didnt care. "Well if it worked, why did he throw you off?"

[Kjara/Jyotic]

When you can understand what I told him, you will have learnt a lot. Adura smiled. And he threw me off because he didn't like what I was saying.

[James]

Nox frowned. "I'm not that fond of riddles." He said. "But I doubt you'll tell us more."

[Kjara/Jyotic]

Well guessed. Let's keep going.
