Aww, she whined. Oh well. It's still pleasant to see you any time even if only for a short time. Still you have not answered my question. How have you been?

Well darling. The journey is going well for Asim. He is reaching the next piece even as we speak. Star said something vague, hoping that Accalia wouldn't ask for any more details.

Oh that's good. I hope he's alright. He must be confused and lonely... If I wasn't stuck here with this girl I would go keep him company.

He is doing well, considering his current situation. Star decided it was time to change the topic. How are you doing darling

Accalia went with the subject change. I've been alright I guess. The girl has given me more freedom thankfully. I was beginning to feel choked by that rope.

Has she hurt you?

Not really... but she has injured my wolven pride. We're wild beings even if forced to partnership or domestication. I'd rather hunt for my own rather than be hand fed. I want to be free but I cannot. It is frustrating.

Live through it. You will be all the stronger for it. Star rolled to her feet. I must leave now darling. She padded back into the bushes without looking back. She changed quickly, and jogged back to where she had left her pack, slinging it onto her shoulder.
She arrived back at the camp and picked up the leash. She knelt down and held the collar open wide.

Accalia sighed and trotted over, sitting down in front of Star where it would be easier to put the collar back on. It was an absolute act of cruelty to collar a wolf... one of the many reasons Humans had been eradicated from Amaru. Yet obviously somehow their idea lived on.

Star put the collar on and held the leash loosely in her hand, she shouldered her pack and started to stride through the broken tree stumps.
She moved briskly, easily moving between the tree stumps, but making it difficult for Accalia to keep up. This time, it wasn't through deliberate cruelty, but rather because she wanted to reach the guards. Amett must have something that he wanted her to do, and if he didn't... her thoughts trailed off. She wasn't sure what she would do. Probably just wonder aimlessly.

Accalia ran as fast as she could, keeping up just behind Star. Her sides heaved as she panted. The wolf could feel the air through her fur and for a moment she shut her eyes and imagined what things used to be- no, should be- like. Was she captive to this girl forever...? A pet? A mere partner? No. She wasn't even that. She was enslaved.

Star kept going, and eventually came to the little guard house. She raised her hand and knocked briskly.

A rather gruff looking man came to the door. His ears pinned back and the fur on the end of his wolf tail stood on end. Luparis. "What business have you here?" he demanded. Accalia sensed the threat and pinned her own ears back, showing her teeth. If he meant to harm Star he'd be sorry.

Star smiled manipulatively. I am a servant of Amett, and come here to seek news. She spokes silently in the hope that she might unnerve the guard slightly, although she knew that that would be unlikely. She also sent Accalia a message directly, one that would be completely secret to anyone around. No, she sent bluntly.

Accalia stopped growling and stood obediently at Star's heels, silent now. I apologize, Miss. she said simply with little to no feeling.
The guard simply smirked. So you know mind-speech do you? That does not prove you truly serve Lord Amett. Give me some evidence of it and I will permit passing. And I warn you, simply acting 'evil' with violence or shouting or even threats is not proof at all.
