Essetai proceeded cautiously through the forest, her feet quietly crunching along the dead foliage laying on it. Just behind her was her newest friend, the Pegicorn they had picked up in their time in the forest. Nearby was Desumo who she happily walked with. "So...Des...how long do you suppose we'll be in this dark place?" she asked, wondering.

"Shining Prince...it fits you." Essetai grinned, reaching out to brush her finger tips against the Pegicorn's mane. "I don't think a Sparks spell would be too bright as long as I did it. Your electricity abilities will amplify it a bit too much."

"Okay. " Des said. " I think I have an idea of how to see ho much farther we got. We could climb a tree that grows above canopy and search around."

"Alright..." Esse nodded. She scanned the area for a tree with lowish branches that she could reach. "Mind giving me a boost?"

"No problem." Des said as he made his way towards the tree. He crouched down. "Stand on my shoulders, I'll try hovering us up. I warn you though, I've never had passengers."

She nodded then climbed up. "Good thing I don't weigh much, eh?" she giggled. Esse made sure she was balanced and then reached for a branch.

Des hovered himself up to let Ese reach the branch easier. He swayed slightly, unacustomed to having someone on his shoulders as such. "It's damn good." He said with a chuckle.

She jumped nimbly off his shoulders once she got a hold on the branch and pulled herself up. "Thanks for the lift. I got it from here, Des."

Got it, Give me a shout when your ready to come down." Des said. " Or jump and break your legs, your choice really." Des landed back on the ground and sat down to wait.

"Eh I'd rather not do the second one!" she giggled as she climbed higher. She made sure her feet didn't slip of the branches and kept a firm grip.

The tree was strong, and all the lower branches held her weight without moving. As she climbed higher, the branches got weaker and began to move as she stood on them, bending but not breaking.

She stopped trying to climb higher, not feeling quite safe. She was used to climbing things, an adjustment made by traveling, but she had a fear of heights since there was only ice and snow in Hoku. "...Des...if I fall catch me." she whimpered.

"You doubted me enough to ask?" Des said, pretending to be hurt by the comment. "I'll get ya no problem." Des charged lightning into his legs so he could speed to wherever she might fall.
