Asim blinked as the bright light connected with his eyes, not used to it after being in the dim forest. "Ah!" the red wolf yelped. "It suddenly got really really bright."
"Way to state the obvious," Zygandelth laughed. Personally he wasn't looking forward to being under the sun. Albinos like him got burnt very easily.

Tamara ran light footedly out into the light. "It's beautiful."

"Beautifully blinding!" Asim laughed. "Still I guess I can appreciate the break from all the darkness as much as anyone else can."
Zyg squinted his eyes and held a hand to his forehead like a visor. His wolf ears both pinned back when he saw the fallen trees everywhere. "Grrr...Amett's destroyed even more since last time I was through here and that wasn't even long ago!"

Tamara looked sharply down, and noticed the destruction around her. "How could he do something like this?"

"Because he's a monster... And I have to stop him," Asim snarled, his teeth bared and his fur on end like a bristle brush. "I'm a hero."
"Hehe, ego boost much?" Zyg said with a chuckle.
"Maybe... But I'm still meant to help. I want to help." He placed emphasis on the 'want'.

"And Zyg and I don't," Tamara said protectively. She smiled sheepishly and then turned back to the tree stumps littering the ground around her. "It's just devestating."

Zyg nodded. "I can think of several colourful words to call Amett at the moment but I'll refrain... however I will say this: He's worse than a Human, the egotistical power-hungry mad shapeshifter."
"For once Zyg, we're in agreement."

Tamara smiled a little, trying to put on a brave face. The devestation she saw around her was serious. "That makes three of us."

Zyg smiled, glad they could muster up some bravery. "Well no need to stand around or walk slow like chickens. Let's get a move on!"

Tamara nodded. "Let's go this way," she said, pointing away from the hut the could see on the horizon and towards the narrowest section of Treefell. "We still have a lot of open ground to cover."

Asim shifted direction to follow Tamara as did Zyg. "So...how far do you think we have to travel until we get to the volcano?" the wolf asked.

"A few hours walk across Treefell, and then? I'm not sure exactly how much desert we will have to cross."

"The desert trek is about three to five days depending where we cross. It's really hot there so I think we'll have to adjust ourselves to traveling only at night. Sound alright with you two?" Zyg suggested. Asim nodded as his reply.

"There is no way we would be able to travel during the day. And we will need to find shelter while we sleep."

"I could dig a den for us? It'd be small and maybe cramped but surely underground it would be nicer than out in the sun?" Asim suggested.
"Good plan wolf boy but one thing, the desert is sand. How do we keep it from collapsing?"
