Thorn looked up angrily. If you are going into the desert, this is not the time to start bickering. You were fine till Asteros left. She nuzzled Larc gently. You have to co-operate. Adura didn't say anything, but she sent her silent agreement along the connection she and Nox shared.

Larc shrugged and said, "Why don't you lead the way Nox? Which way do you wish for me to go?" Larc was going to listen to Thorn, and probably only her. It was hard taking orders, but with help, he was going to do his best. Noticing a twig at his foot, he bent over and picked it up. "Here is some fire wood." He smiled and threw it deeper into the woods.

Exactly how do you define fine? Nox thought. "Joke all you want but the desert is a place of extremes." He said outloud. " We do need firewood or we'll freeze at night, or be attacked by creatures that lurk in the dark." Nox thought a minute. " Since your so perceptive on the subject, why don't you go find us some twigs, dry grass and leaves, and something to bind them. We'll make them into torches, since most travelling will be at night. Adura and I will look for food. If you spot anything else useful bring it along. We'll meet up when the night air starts to set in. Sound good?"

Adura nodded her consent. We should head towards the river. I can smell the water in the air from here. Animals will gather there to drink, so we will be able to catch them.
Thorn looked cheerful at the prospect of doing something useful. She tumbled of Larc's arm, and began to bound across the forest floor, a striking reminder of her still youthful age. She stopped next to a largish dry stick, and looked back at Larc. Come on. We've got work to do.

Larc mumbled, but got to work. Moving after Thorn, he picked up a small twig that she had found. Trying not to laugh, Larc kept up with the little dragon. While he walked with the creature, it was easy to spot other objects. Taking forth into the wild by himself was interesting. Larc loved to learn new things, and new things could always be seen in the wild. Thorn was just as excited to look for wood. thinking about all the spells he knew, he wondered if he could possibly design a fire spell of random?

Nox unsheathed his dagger and looked to Adura. "Which way is the river?" He asked as he started to walk away. Every now and then Nox would stop and mark a tree so he could find his way back to the meeting spot. Though getting separated wouldn't be so bad. He thought.
