Kjara angled her wings downwards, now seeing what Jyotic saw. She felt the wind rushing under her wings and smiled. This is what she loved - diving.
She changed her angle again, flipping in the air and then using the power to rise up a little so that they could still make it to the desert.
She flipped her tail in the air in joy. They where finally getting somewhere!
Jyotic held on tightly as Kjara did her flip. He didn't enjoy it as much as she did, but she wouldn't listen to him anyway. Jyotic held onto his fellow passengers to make sure they wouldn't fall off. He laughed - he was sure Kintir would have something to say about it.
Kjara hit the sand hard, and Jyotic rolled off her back and onto the floor. Kjara laughed. <I thought you would have got use to my landings by now>
It was getting dark, so the sand was cool. She playfully kicked some towards Jyotic, who through a handful back at her.
<Aww, now it's stuck between my scales!> Jyotic smiled, and gave her a hand brushing it off.

Kintir hopped down and rolled in the sand, his fur getting covered in it. Now Kintir is covered like Kjara! he said cheerfully. The only response he dragged from poor Rajira's daughter was a feeble mew. She wasn't used to the concept of dragon-back flying even if she had clung to her mother's back before.
Ugh...Rough flight. she groaned, hopping down on the sand herself. Her paw pads left small imprints in the soft surface but she did nothing more than wash a paw with her sand-papery tongue rather than roll in it.

Kjara laughed at Rajira's daughter's (what was her name?) response. <That wasn't rough, that was peaceful.> Jyotic nodded. "Flying through storms is rough... and wet."
He picked Kintir up and placed him back on Kjara's back. "Stand there." He told him, while trying to brush the sand out of his fur.

Arashi smiled back. Well I suppose I'll look forward to it? she laughed. It was sarcasm quite obviously.
Kintir stay! the mousaokit agreed. He waited in place and closed his eyes. He enjoyed the attention as always.

Jyotic finished brushing the sand out of Kintir's fur, tickled him on the head, and then perched him on his shoulder. He stooped to pick up Arashi, and put her on Kjara's back.
He swung up into the saddle, and then pulled Arashi towards him, putting her on the front of the saddle.
<Ready?> Kjara asked.

Ready. Arashi confirmed. Her small purple and black wings tucked around her and her tail did as well. She knew how flight worked. It was best to make yourself compact when you were a passenger. Then whoever was doing the flying had an easier time.
Kintir's small clawed hands (or paws depending on the preference of the one referring to them) gripped Jyotic's shoulder carefully. He didn't want to fall off but he certainly didn't plan on harming Jyotic or accidentally hurting him. To make up for it, the mousaokit wrapped his tail around the man's forearm. That would help with balance.

Jyotic pulled himself onto Kjara's back, and Kjara turned towards the yellow sand. She took off and flew smoothly towards the horizon, staying low to the ground, and keeping an eye out for a shelter where they could spend the first day.
<We should start travelling properly in the late afternoon, and fly until it is completely dark. And then from early morning until it gets to hot to travel anymore.>
Jyotic nodded, and Kjara felt his agreement across the link they shared. She spotted a dark overhang of rock and pointed it out to the others, angling herself towards it.

With a nod of agreement, Arashi waited. Once Kjara landed she jumped off immediately to stretch her back and wings which had grown stiff from staying in one place and being stiff for so long. The feline let out a rolling purr then looked up to her friends. <Are you coming?> she asked.
<Kintir coming!> the mouse insisted, jumping off with his powerful kangaroo-like back legs. He landed with a soft thud in the space between Arashi's wings on her back. <See? Kintir here for little bitty kitty!>

Jyotic laughed and grabbed Kintir in one sweeping motion. "Leave 'little bitty kitty' alone. She's stiff enough as it is." He put Kintir on his shoulder again, and set about taking Kjara's saddle off. It was easy enough and he lay it on the ground in the shade. He sat down with his back against the rock while Kjara lay down next to him. He stroked Arashi gently.

Arashi, much like a house cat, enjoyed the feeling. It reminded her of her mother giving her a bath. She let out another purr and a contented sigh, laying down as well. While she of course was content with relaxing Kintir (being as hyper as he was) wasn't. The mousaokit leaped off of Jyotic's shoulder.
<But kitty->
<Hush, Kintir. Calm yourself. It is not the time to run around. It's going to get hot out. Don't get worn out.>

"She is right you know, as much as I hate to say it. You should sleep."
Jyotic got some food out of his pack. "Anyone hungry?"
