Fire elementals live deep in the heart of the Mount Fervens where they travel to and from the planet's mantle. Most of the social parts of the village are beneath the magma but the homes are dug into the volcano wall above the magma line. Though their village is in the volcanoes heart, they often have to leave in search of food and supplies. This is done using a secret network of volcanic vents and the planet's mantle. The network is only known to the village members as it leads to their storage facilities. Only those who can resist the extreme heat can go into these vents.
Their true bodies are usually burning flames yet solid at the same time. In addition to combusting the air, Fire elementals can expel it from their bodies. In their elemental form their fire bodies can't be put out, even by water. It will severally hurt them and dull their flames. It is said they first Fire Elementals learned to wield fire from the Roca, a race with whom they feel a kinship today.
The right to passage is one that is worked towards since a Fire elemental's childhood. They are originally born with a normal flame color of red and yellow. After training and studying for years the color changes to symbolize the coming of age. The color is based on how the individual developed. It can be green, yellow, or even just a more intense version of the childhood flames. This village is led by one leader who's color is unique. The next leader is decided by whoever can develop a different bluish white flame first. This takes intensive training in both wisdom and strength. The leader rules for 100 years if a successor is ready, if not then the leader rules until a successor is available. These are rare enough that there are usually no other potential leaders in the 100 year span.
Fire elementals earn money by selling weaponry and armor that they forge. They use their heat resistance and flames to get the materials to its purest form. They also have access to the molten material in the mantle. Some are so rare that they can't be found on the surface, only forming in magma.
