The Water Elementals live deep in the Sea of Expedition, their village located near Winter Beach. Their bodies are made up of water and can easily make the transition from salt to fresh and vice versa. While liquid they have a solid form, distinguishable from the water around them. Though most believe so, they're bodies are not clear but a deep blue. Too look at one brings the feeling of of gazing into the deep sea.The Water elemental use their ability to transits between waters to travel throughout the land using the river systems.Their bodies are also highly flexible, bending in ways that only the waves can. The only problem is that they can't venture into the desert in their elemental form for the heat causes them to become horribly ill. Any large heat will have the same effect on them. If no surrounding water is available for them to use their powers on then they will use their body's water. Water Elementals must then drink a lot after to restore the lost water.
They are highly capable fishermen and make excellent jewelery from fish scales, pearls and other items of the sea. They set up shops along rivers, selling these items. They also sell raw materials for forging. They're right of passage also involves fishing. The elemental is assigned a rare fish that they are to search out, capture alive, bring back, then take one piece from the creature, and release it still alive. The piece they take may be anything not vital: a tooth, scale, fin piece, horn, etc. The piece is usually made into an accessory that is worn to commemorate the day.
The village is well protected by it's environment, as most Elemental villages, but have additional traps. The water Elementals booby trap the surrounding waters to ward off unwelcome attention. Only outsiders who have an Elemental as a guide can reach the village unharmed. Water Elementals are governed by an elected chief with elections every 150 years. This individual is usually wise and ,more often than not, an elder.
