The Auroran Race live in Hoku, the northernmost region of Amaru. They live in the isolated village known as Thunderblizzard. All Aurorans have dark red hair, which doesn't go gray. Even the village Elders still have this distinctive head of hair. They have a dragon-like appearance: long, sharp fingernails, long canine teeth and even tails that traditionally end in spikes. Their eyes are shaped like a cat's, and they have pointed ears.
Auroran's eyes change colour according to their emotions. This makes it easy to tell what an auroran is feeling if you understand which colours mean which moods. It takes a bit of practice, but it's as close to reading their faces as many ever get. The issue is each individual has their own colour combinations, so you may not always know.
Aurorans have very little contact with the outside world, so they live a very simple lifestyle, mainly hunting within Thunderblizzard Valley. They wear very simple clothes which are normally only shades of blue, white or gray. They normally wear a loose, light top, gray sweatpants, and a thick white or blueish fur cloak made from the skins of the Polar Bears that live on the snow but again preference may vary for each individual.
Those who develop a liking for learning find it a good thing to live in Thunderblizzard. The Aurorans are a race of intellect and imagination. They tell stories of the original heroes of Amaru and are the reason Amaru's lore survives through the centuries despite the destruction of the land. While their village may be isolated, their tales certainly are not.
