"Eek!" Kintir yelped before he curled up into a new position where Jyotic couldn't sleep on him. He made sure to nestle tightly between two of Kjyara's neck spikes where he would fall off only onto the joint of her wings and not into the water.

Kjara focused on the river, listening to Jyotics low breathing, and Kintir's much higher breaths. She slowly floated... floated...

Kintir opened his eyes after about ten minutes, having enough resting. He hopped up onto her upper neck, just behind her horns, and tilted his head.

<You don't sleep very much, do you little one?> Kjara paddled faster, wanting to make as much headway as possible. The wind whipped around Kintir, because of the speed, and his ears were pulled back in the drag. Kjara enjoyed the feel of the wind on her face, but she was always careful not to steer corners so steeply that Jyotic fell off. She had and abilty to sense where the water was, something to do with her power, but it meant that Jyotic was a safe on her back hurtling downstream as he was at home, on his bed in the clouds.

He shook his head in response. Don't...sleep. The tiny fragments of thought reached Kjara. He could communicate.

<You can talk! What was it you were looking at early, on the runes. Did you understand them?>

Can't talk, only think. Squiggly marks? Can read! he replied, curling his tail around her horns for better balance. Saw Circle make! Know what says!

She ran these thoughts over in her head as the moved quickly downstream. Maybe Kintir would be more useful that she'd ever imagined. He could get into places that she and Jyotic had no chance of, and he was obviously intelligent to try and avoid getting caught. He wouldn't walk straight into traps. And he saw the circle made! or did he see the circle make... She couldn't remember.
<Did you see the circle make the Stone Legend? Do you know where they put the pieces.> She was excited now.

Saw Circle of Amaru make Stone Legend! Only know this one. Others in other places. He said, an apologetic tone in his thoughts. He was sorry he didn't know more. Wish knew. Would help you, friends.

Kjara smiled. <Yes, friends.> She slowed down, and smiled to herself. She lifted one of her front feet out of the water. <Come and sit here for a bit.>

Coming! he said happily before scrambling he hopped off her neck, using his tail as a balance to make sure he didn't slide into the water. Fun jump!

She held her foot carefully out of the water, although his long tail dangled in any way. She paddled faster again letting the wind build up and simply enjoying the rush of adreniline through her body.

She let out a little silent woop, that only Kintir could hear. <How come I can suddenly understand you now?> she asked him, curious.

Never thought much. Guess I came up with 'nuff words! Happy! he shrugged. Other friend heard odd words. Other animal. All animals can think. Nobody listens.
