She held him at arms length by the scruff of his neck. <I wouldn't eat you silly,> she thought letting him go, but catching him again before he hit the floor. She gave him a nudge. <Go and find Jyotic>

He turned and started to jump away, squeaking in way of calling out for Jyotic. Where are you?

Kjara laughed, and deftly started to pull the pack off her back. It was a little akward, but she'd done it before. She slipped it off, and then pulled it open, starting to pull things out. She pulled out food, and then set up a little stone for the fire to go on, with a couple of sticks to rest cooking food on.
Jyotic heard Kintir calling and caught him up, letting him run up his arm and onto his shoulder. "What are you doing here, little one?" he asked, bending down to pick up some more wood.

He pointed his tail in Kjara's direction. Friend looking for you. Kjara must be worried. Asked me to find you Jy.

"Or she just wanted to get on with something... maybe she wanted to start cooking and knows how much you like food." He carried on picking up wood. "Let's go and find her." He started making his way back to the beach by the river.

Food? he perked up. Yum yum!
He ran a little circle then started to chase after Jyotic, hopping along next to the boy's feet.

Jyotic crouched for a second, so his cape and tail were on the ground, giving Kintir a chance to run up if he wanted to.

With little effort, the mousaokit shifted his weight to his hind legs and sprung upwards. He landed on Jyotic's back. Kintir good jumper!

"I'll remember that for next time. Come and sit on my shoulder before you tear the material with your claws."

He climbed up and curled up on his friend's shoulder, watching as Jyotic walked. He smiled in an interested manner as he saw the scenery go by. Where are we?

"We aren't far from the river he said, just as the broke out and he could see the shore. She is just a little downstream. Come on, let's take her the wood." He waded in the shallows downstream. He was already wet, what difference would it make.

"We are still in Chuukan. We might be here for a coupla days yet. ((Still have two Chuukan boards to go lol.)) Look, there is Kjara." He splashed over to the beach, dumping the dry wood on the stones. Then he lent over and started building up a fire. He quickly piled the wood up cleverly and then struck to stones together to light it. Kjara was busy nimbly pushing meat onto long thin sticks. <These need to cook first.>

"Come here Kintir, you are to stay on my shoulder until I say you can come down OK?"
Kjara put the sticks on the little frame she had constructed over the fire, turning them over regularly so they didn't get burnt.
