Zyg jumped the gap no problem and put his partner down. "No problem!" he smiled. "Though I wasn't looking smug, I point out."
He pouted when Chlea said they were being persued. "They're chasing me, not you."

"Of course, Chlea. Night has fallen so it's had to see much. The stars from the bottom of the cloud sparkle above us. We are on a set of steps, leading up to a section of the ruins where I remember a hiding place. Around us are tall trees, with wide trunks. There are vines and creepers growing everywhere, and host of animals inhabits the landscape. It's hard to see far between the trees because they are densely packed, and there is a thick undergrowth. The rocks of the ruins are weathered, and are a greeny colour. Some have mosses growing on them, and many have been overrun with ivy. We are nearly at the top of the steps, and there is just one more gap to get over, and that comes in a minute. Then i'll show you the hiding place."

Chlea nodded, smiling slightly.
"Thank you." She looked around to see if she could work out where the boy was. "And, you say they are not chasing us?"

Zyg sighed. "Yeah they're not after you... they're after me. Chances are, though, if they find you they'll assume you're with me anyway so you're in trouble as well." His tail fell out of the waistband of his pants and started wagging a little, but quickly stopped at the mention of the people chasing him.

"Right. The next gap is coming up." Tamara led Chlea up until she was two steps away from the gap. The gap was about three metres wide, so Tamara dropped one of the packs and flew over the gap with the other. She came back and carried the next pack across, and then asked Soyru if she could fly across and sit on the packs on the other side. She lifted Chlea up again, and still, suprised at her weight, pushed off the ground with her feet. She shot a little to high, because she had miscalculated, but then she could spread her wings, and simply glide to the other side of the gap.

He nodded. "I'm Zyg. My full name's usually too hard to pronounce and too much to give out..."
Zyg stared at the three meter wide gap and leaped, trying to land on his feet. He nearly slipped but his partner reached out and caught his pants with her teeth, dragging him up.

"I could have helped you know, you didn't have to risk your life like that. We are very far up." Tamara frowned. "You think you have something to prove don't you." She was slightly annoyed at Zyg for seeming to her to only want to prove things. She encouraged Soyru to jump off the packs, and then shouldered the two of them again. "Just a few more steps Chlea," she said, then paused. "The people following are on the stairs. I don't know if we'll get to safety in time..."

He raised his palm and showered some sparks downwards, hoping to stun their pursuers. "I don't have anything to prove... I just want to survive, okay? I've lived on my own for ages with no problems. In case you didn't notice I'm alive... even though I'm albino."

"I don't know what will happen if they find us, but I'm guessing it's not good. We have to make it to the top of the stairs, quickly. If I carry you again, I could fly faster, but I can't carry you and both packs... Zyg, do you think you could carry a pack? The secret room is up the stairs, and then left along the corridor, you take the second right, and run right to the end. It's a dead end, I'll meet you there. I'm going to fly over the top, it's straighter, and then come in through a hole in the roof, hopefully." She stopped for a second, and then asked "Will you do that?"

Zyg nodded. "I should be able to. It's not heavy and I barely have any stuff of my own... probably going to pawn off the shield for some gems since it's useless to carry it around."
He thought for a second. "How do you know about the corridor anyway? Isn't this place like abandoned?"

"I've been here before." Tamara dropped a pack, and then passed it to Zyg. She asked Soyru to fly alongside her and then picked up Chlea and left the ground. She flapped hard with her wings, until she could see the top of the building, then she swooped, searching for the correct hole in the roof. "Hold on Chlea, I'm going to dive," she warned.

He picked it up and but it on his back, not at all weighted down by it. He picked up the Faari and nodded to Tamara. "I'll follow behind. It won't be a problem."
