"Hey Asim." Tamara blushed and turned away from Zyg and Asim, moving towards the shelter again because she wanted to hide her pink flush. She dropped her final handful of wood and then ducked into the shelter, pulling the fire together and starting to light it.

Asim smiled to her then ran in to the woods again, dragging a dead pegicorn behind him. Don't worry, I didn't kill a healthy one. This one was suffering from a broken leg. It was too fractured to heal so I ended his misery.
"Nice catch," Zyg grinned.

Tamara looked on silently. She didn't like death by she knew it was nessecary. "We should use as much as we can. I don't have a knife. How will we skin it?"

Asim trotted over. Bag on my hip. There should be a dagger in it. he explained.
Zyg reached in and pulled out the dagger, flipping it skillfully so the blade was in the right direction. "I'll do it. I know how to skin it and keep a lot of meat intact."

Tamara shrugged. She would do it if she had to, but she didn't mind delegating the responsibility to someone else.

Zyg started to skin the Pegicorn, dividing sections of meat off onto bits of hide that he pulled off. "The skin will make good storage but it won't keep for too long. We should try to use as much as we can and only carry what we can use within a few days before it goes bad."
Asim changed to Zayrena and sat down indian style with a nod. "Right. If we take too much it'll attract all kinds of unwanted animals."

Tamara built up the fire. "If we smoke it it will keep much longer. And it doesn't taste bad either, especially if we burn herbs on the fire." She sat down next to Asim, and then looked away and moved over slightly.

Asim didn't seem to mind. He took a glance around. "We should have no problem smoking it... Herbs though? I have to admit it isn't my forte to find them."
"I probably can find them if you two would like me to," Zyg suggested. Best to give them some time alone to chat. I feel kind of like I'm intruding. His partner suddenly scrambled up and jumped on his lap. Zygandelth grinned and stroked the little Faari. "There you are!"

Tamara looked up. "No, I know what to look for. I'll go and find then." She stood up again, like a cat, very elegantly and began to move off into the forest.

Asim sighed and watched her go then sniffed the air. "I don't think there is any danger nearby. I don't smell anything."
"Well that's good news. I wouldn't want to run across a Zintelii."
"Nor would anyone."

Tamara picked a couple of herbs, looking for some wild garlic. She circled the clearing once, and found a couple of herbs, scanning the ground with keen eyes. She came across the distinctive leaves and smiled. She picked them up, carefull to leave the roots in the soil so that the garlic could grow again.

Asim looked at Zyg's Faari and tilted his head. "Your partner?"
"Yeah. Aerani and I have been together for years. We're partners in crime...so to speak. Why?"
"I was just curious is all. She doesn't seem afraid of me despite my wolf scent. It's interesting. ...Tam should be back fairly soon."

Tamara was still close and her footsteps didn't give her away as she could move very lightly, using her wings for balance. She overheard what asim had said. Why did he care when she came back, and why had he said it so quickly?

Asim shrugged then changed to his wolf form, lounging about. So erm...should we get a fire going?
"Perhaps. I'm not familiar with the process of smoking food, just drying it."

Tamara jogged in. "There is already a fire burning, just inside the shelter. It won't be seen there. She threw the herbs into the fire and a delicious smell spread across the glade. She also had some vines over her arm, and some longish twigs. She began to weave a grid. "Can you pass me some meat. The toughest we should make into stew and the tenderest should be eated as quickly as possible, but we can smoke the rest of it."
