Star began to make camp, collecting sticks. She would collect the larger pieces and the puppy would collect kindling. She didn't use the rope any more, she hadn't found need to. The puppy did what she asked. She was hoping that it would want to take more responsibility for collecting wood, as it must be obvious that she was bringing in a lot more, and the puppy was older now, just beginning to show signs of an adult form.

The oversized pup stretched a little and then started to trot around to find sticks. Now that she had grown, rapidly as all dire wolves do, she could pick up much larger wood. She piled some up then looked to Star. This alright? Or more?

You don't need me any more, Star stated. More wood is needed, but you can collect that. I'm going to start the fire, and start to cook some food.

The wolf stretched a little more then went back to get logs for Star since she had nothing better to do. She piled up enough to last a few hours then watched Star make the fire, observing how the flames danced and licked up along its fuel before devouring it into ashes.

Star got some meat, and vegtables out of her bag, making a little stew. She added a little herbs into the boiling water and tasted it. Once she was happy with the taste she let it boil a little while longer and then started eating it with a spoon, straight out of the pot.

The wolf sniffed the air and then curled up, knowing it was not her turn to eat until Star said so and that there would be nothing to do until Star was done her meal. She just watched the fire as she waited.

Star looked at the sad look on the wolf's face and threw her a little piece of meat. She returned to her meal as if she hadn't done anything.

She snapped up the piece of meat and then nodded slightly as thanks before she laid her head down again. Though it was a small piece it was good enough to keep her content.

Star finished her meal and cleared up, packing the meat away. She sat down by the fire. Will you keep watch she asked.

I will keep watch. Shall I wake you if I hear anything? she asked, waiting for orders.

What do you think? Star snapped because she was tired. Yes, idiot. She made her thoughts clear, just incase the wolf came up with an argument that she hadn't understood.

Star settled down to sleep, lying by the warmth of the fire, lying awake for a while. She stacked a little bit more wood onto the fire, the pile beginning to run low. Could you collect some more wood as well? She said just before falling asleep.

She nodded again and went to collect wood, keeping alert and awake in case anything came to attack either her or Star. Why do I always have to be the one to stay awake? she wondered.

Star rolled over, breathing slightly heavily. She had learnt to move on little sleep, and she would be up again in 5 or 6 hours.
