As the light completely faded from the sky you begin to hear the sounds of the nocturnal animals emerging. Some are very far but others could be heard below the walkway. One could be heard climbing the wall, heading towards the two.

"Tela, can you hear that?" He cruched low and listened for the animal that was approaching them quickly.

Suddenly a figure jumps up to the far side of the walkway. In the dim moonlight you can see horns and deadly scythes coming from it's wrist. It slowly walks closer, hissing. As it approaches other features can be seen. It appeared to be a cross between a mantis and a dog. It was a Draikal.

Tela didn't hesitate to attack. He jumped out and tried to bite at the creature. Talem slashed out with his sword, trying to make three deep cuts in the creatures chest.

Tela managed to grab the draikal's left arm and two of Talem's slashes made contact. The creature gave a cry that sounded like a cross between a roar and a screech. It raised it's other scythe hand and began to slash at Tela as it stepped back from Talem.

Tela took a slash on his flank, as he tried to turn around the draikal. Tela opened his mouth, dashing for its shoulder. Talem held his sword out straight trying to make contact.

(Um, Jeremy, mind revising your post? It says all Tela and it seems at some points you mean Talem. I just need clarification.)

The draikal staggered back as Tela bit him. Talem's sword hit it in the side and caused it to shriek again. It knew it couldn't overpower the two so it decided to change tactics. The draikal placed it's scythe right behind Tela's head and hissed at Talem evilly.

"Darn you..." Tela thought of the action before Talem, and swung his head up and grabbed the blade between his teeth. He then swung his head in a swift motion, and Talem brought his sword hilt down on the creature.

The draikal staggered backfrom the blow, grunting angrily. It suddenly backed up too far and lost it's footing on the part of walkway that collapsed. It began to slip but hung on by digging it's other sythe into the walkway. This wouldn't hold long for it began to crack under the strain as the creature attempted to pull itself up and shake off Tela.

Tela throw his massive head and unleashed his teeth, hoping that he would have thrown the creature into the dark hole.

The draikal slid into the darkness, only leaving a loud thud to signal it's fate.
