Are we in danger? Essetai wondered as she wandered forward. She looked back to Desumo. "Do you think it'll hurt me?"

Desumo grabbed Esse's arm and pulled her back. " I don't know and I don't want to find out." He said. " We should know a bit more about it before moving forward.

She nodded after he yanked her back, though she still felt like she needed to move forward. Something was pulling her along mentally as it had been making her tired. Strange sensation...What is this draw? "You don't feel a pull?" she questioned, confused if she was the only one.

Desumo stopped for a moment. " Yeah, kinda but we can't let it cloud oir judgement." He said. He felt the pull and urge to go but his mind pushed harder to remain cautious of the mysterious creature.

"Right...you're right. I can't let it cloud my judgement. Sorry Des...I don't know why I'm like this right now. Usually I can at least sense danger," she apologized.

" It's no problem." Desumo said has he let go. " This place is playing mind games with all of us. I just don't want you going and getting yourself hurt." Desumo looked at the creature in the distance. " What does it want with us?" He thought.

She nodded in agreement then pulled out her wooden sword. "Man, I really do need to get a better weapon...even before we get to Hoku. Otherwise I'm pretty useless in a fight."

" Mind if I take a look?" Des asked. " Maybe it has some potential."

"It's wood... but okay I guess if you want to," Essetai shrugged. She handed him the wooden sword, kind of embarrassed. "It's all I got on such short notice. I wish I had my Icemoon Scythe."

Desumo looked over the blade. " Well it would take a bit but with some metal it could be reforged." He said. " Wooden swords are perfect bases for temperary metal swords. The right metals could get us all the way to Hoku probably."

"Yeah but the right raw material would be useless without a way to smith it all together. Besides, where the heck would we find raw materials out here?" Esse sighed. She then smiled suddenly. "I just remembered...the guards of this place had enchantments on their weapons so they couldn't rust with age. There are probably some down here somewhere. Though, there is a problem. Most will be too heavy for me to use."

"The key word is most." Desumo said as he handed her back the wooden sword. " When we finish with this thing we can search around, but till then here." Desumo held out his sword. " It 's the best option we got right now. Same agreement as before, ok."

Esse took it from him and nodded. "Alright...you sure you feel alright letting me use this? I mean... it must be important to you."

The creature jumped backwards, so that it was just out of the reach of the light. It didn't seem to want to hurt them, but it didn't look like it was moving either. Maybe you should just continue into the tunnel.

She noticed the lack of movement and stepped forward again. "Des...I don't think it's a threat. Call it a hunch and hope it's a good one, but I think I'm right."
