The creature was fully visible for a moment before it flew off, snapping its jaws at Kjara in anger as it left.
There is a strange marking on the wall. It appears to be a rune. A few feet away another is on the wall. They seem to be leading you somewhere.

Kjara decided to follow the ruins, gratefull that at the moment, although the passgeway twisted and turned, there were no turnings to remember. She blew fire at regular intervals to check this fact, and reveal more of the ruins on the wall. She message Jyotic <I think I've found something...>
Jyotic smiled as he heard the voice in his head. He looked at the mouse who was sniffing the air. What's the problem, he said outloud to the little mouse, before deciding he was mad, talking to the animals.

The mouse scrambled over and cowered behind Jyotic's leg, a howl sounding in the distance.
The runes led her down a huge corridor deeper into the Ruins of Time. It continues to wind along, there suddenly being a slight glow from the dragon flame glittering on the runes themselves.
)short... T.T sorry)

Kjara stopped blowing fire, and looked at the corridor in the glow. She continued to make her way along it, wondering where the runes were leading her.
Jyotic tried to calm the mouse. He stroked the top of it's head catiously, and the fed it a piece of mushroom to try and keep it calm. Jyotic loaded an arrow to his bow, and held it in his hand ready to fire. He slipped the quiver onto his back, in it's normal position. He also packed up the rest of his things, so he could move quickly, but he left his sword and shield out.

It grabbed the mushroom greedily and began to munch, though its eyes were still completely wide in fear. It shivered as it ate. The hunting howl sounded again. It was closer than before.
The runes abruptly stopped in front of a large cavern where more runes were etched across the rocks, completely covering them. It glowed a sort of light purple, producing its own light. They seemed to coat the entire room and even some way down the two hallways connecting to the chamber.

Kjara stepped into the room, and looked around her. Her long tail whipped around, and she stared in awe. She wasn't sure where to go, to she sat and watched, before it struck her that the runes might be amarian, and maybe she could read them. She wondered closer to have a look, still wondering what had originally made the sound.
Jyotic pulled his pack closer still, and quickly finished off his food. He listened carefully and kept his eyes peeled, constantly looking around, and trying to find the source of the noise. He wanted to be able to catch any creature before it had a chance to catch him.

The original skittering noise seemed to be right behind Kjara now, as if it had been following her since she left the flying creature. It also sounded amplified... as if it were more than one of whatever could be making the noise.
The mouse trembled and then ran off, obviously going for some place to hide. The howls became silent... something must have chased whatever it was off. It seemed that the crisis had subsided.

Kjara turned around suddenly, and looked behind her. What was making the noise?
Jyotic relaxed slightly, and lay his bow across his knees, returning the arrow to it's quiver. He was slightly upset that the mouse hadn't stayed, he'd been enjoying the company, for the short time he wasn't worried about being attacked.

The runes that had once been glowing behind her had gone out, a crackling noise the result. The runes in front of her that covered the wall were even brighter now. It seemed that the skittering had been caused all along by the runes dimming and becoming light again.
All of a sudden the mouse popped its head up out of his pack. It chittered and blinked, staring up at him with a crumb between its paws.

Jyotic turned. "I'm going to the whole where Kjara went in, you wanna come?" Then he muttered to himself, "I'm going mad, still talking to the animals. I best go and find Kjara."
He stood and shouldered his pack, after checking that all his food was tightly wrapped up, so the mouse couldn't get at it. He clipped his shield to the outside of the pack, and slung his quiver across his back. He sheathed his sword, and held his bow in his hand. "Let's go, little mouse." He stamped on the fire to put out the last of the small flames.
Kjara sighed, and moved closer. Perhaps the runes were in Amarian, and she could understand what they said, although she only knew a little of the language. She flapped her wings gently to keep her balance and moved forwards.

The mouse chittered quietly before climbing out of Jyotic's pack. It sat on his shoulder, content to ride for now. It twitched a large, almost sonar looking, ear and blinked carefully. It was as if it understood him.
The runes abruptly stopped, what appeared to be a solid wall of completely smooth surface in front of the dragoness. However more often than not things were not what they appeared to be.

Kjara moved back a little, to examine the runes around the edge of the rockface. Maybe they would tell her what was hiding behind the rockface, if there was anything there, and how to get through. She just hoped her Amarian was still good enough to figure it out, she had practiced it since she lost her parents. And they had died before she had picked it up completely. She stepped closer to the wall, and peered at the runes.
Jyotic strocked the mouse on his shoulder. It really was incredibly cute. Maybe it would stay with him, if he fed it. He smiled, maybe it could even help, although he wasn't sure how. He smiled again, thinking of Kjara. He knew she wasn't hugely fond of mice. He took a couple more steps, before his mind wandered to how grateful he was that he didn't have to lug the armour around.

The runes were fairly easy to read, though some were worn from time. They told of a time of trouble when the Elders of all the races in Amaru created the Stone Legend. However, there were no instructions as Kjara had hoped...
The mouse squeaked and sniffed the air, rubbing up against Jyotic like it wanted to tell him something.

Kjara walked back to the rockface. She stood up on her hindlegs, and ran her claws over the stone using her wings to help her balance. She felt for any inacuracies in the stone, but found none. Maybe words were the key. She thought of phrases. Maybe 'OPEN' would do it, but it should probably be in Amarian. She cast around for the word.
<UJAY> She thought forcefully.

Nothing happened, but the runes seemed to rearrange, translating to "the way is more clear than you believe" when taken from Amarian into Amarun. A breeze ran through the room sounding like the whispering of words.
The mouse jumped off Jyotic with a surprising level of skill and started to run down a hallway. Perhaps it had come in handy to have the mouse around...?
