Tilting its head in a curious manner, the mousaokit skittered down Jyotic's arm and looked the runes on the pad over. It didn't understand but there was a hint of familiarity in its eyes. If only there were a way to speak to it....

Kjara turned to Jyotic. <Who is this> she asked him. Jyotic explained to her where the mousaokit had come from, and how it had tried to steal his food. He pulled another little bit of pepper out of his pack, and fed it to the mousoakit. "It doesn't have name yet. I've just been calling it Mouse. It seems to know something. If only we could communicate with it." Kjara seemed doubtful. <We don't want to have another animal around. We'd have to feed it, and keep it safe. And if something does happed, you might get to attached.>
"It knows something, Kjara. Try and talk to it."
Kjara sighed, but did as Jyotic asked. <Hello, mouse. Turn around if you can understand me.>

It squeaked once and turned around. It then looked at Kjara expectantly, watching her closely.

She carefully lay down on the ground, and tucked her wings away. <Come over here. You can run up my tail and onto my back.>

It blinked then launched itself with a powerful jump down to the floor, landing with a soft thud. With incredible speed it bounded up Kjara's back and stood there lightly between her wings as if it were waiting for instructions.

Kjara turned to Jyotic. <OK, so it does understand me. You say you haven't given it a name yet.>
"No, it's just Mouse at the moment."
<I think it's male, you should call it Kintir.... We should call it Kintir.>
"You mean, you are willing to keep him?" Jyotic sounded a little shocked. "Shouldn't we be trying to get out of here."
Kjara nodded, and encouraged Jyotic to get onto her back behind the Mousoakit. She was still wearing the saddle so it wasn't hard. She then started padding down the corridor, with the two on her back. Jyotic reached out and stroked the Mousaokit. "Kintir," he whispered quietly.

The mousaokit perked up a little at his new name, squeaking his approval. Though he couldn't communicate directly, he thumped his over-sized foot against Kjara's saddle a few times as if patting her on the back in thank you.

<It's alright, you deserve a name.> Kjara was shocked at herself. She was already starting to feel affection for Kintir. She started to move quicker. She didn't like the tunnel, that creature might come back. She came to underneath the pit, and started to fly, flapping her wings, and pushing up into the blackness. <It's OK. You'll have to get use to this she told Kintir.> They broke out into the forest, and she flew up through the canopy, wanting to feel the sun on her back again.

Kintir held on tight with his tiny nails, pressing up against Kjara's back until his stomach was flat against the saddle. He squeaked a little as the acceleration occurred and wind whipped through his fur. However he didn't seem afraid of flying.... he seemed to like it.

<Don't you enjoy this,> she told Kintir as they whipped above the tree tops. <We should stop for the night,> she told Jyotic, and she pushed up further. <Lets stop on Midnight Cloud. We know the place well. It's our home.>

He let out a high pitched squeak that stretched out, almost like a cry of joy from a person free-falling as he held on tight. However his tiny body couldn't hold on and he slid back, falling into Jyotic's body.

Jyotic picked up Kintir in one hand, spreading his hads out wide. He was used to riding with no hands, and just grabbing on with his knees. Kjara flapped her wings hard, and they flew faster, high up into the clouds.
<Are you two having fun, she asked the two on her back, as they broke into the cloud.>

Kintir held onto Jyotic's hand with his own tiny ones, careful not to dig in his nails .His long fuzzy tail whipped through the air, streaming from the wind rushing by.

Kjara landed on the cloud above, and moved towards her and Jyotic's cave, the one she knew so well. <We haven't been back here for ages,> she stated, and ran into the cave quickly. She let Jyotic light the fire in the little hearth at the back, and she pulled some food out of the store cupboard, and began to make a stew. She let Kintir sit on the edge of the pot and watch, and she fed it little tibits of vegetables as she cooked.

Kintir held the pieces between his paws and greedily and quite swiftly chewed them until he held nothing. Every time he finished one bit of pepper he looked expectantly up at the dragoness for another. If he didn't get his way he let out a squeak of impatience.
