The task at hand...

[Kayla]

She had her back to Tansa, but spun in time to draw her own sword and knock the blade away with a quick parry. "What are you trying to pull?" she demanded angrily with narrowed eyes. Now that Natsumi was aware of the shifter's position, she dropped into a defensive stance.

[Hanna]

"Oh, nothing," Tansa said innocently as she dropped the blade. Well, that was a complete failure. Note to self, cats are not meant to use swords. She purred, amused at her own foolishness. Guess I'll have to think up a plan B.

[Kayla]

Natsumi just sort of 'harrumph'ed in reply and went back to looking around the room for any sign of a clue towards the Stone Legend's location. Stupid cat... she denies it, but she tried to kill me! Hmm... if she tries it again I might just have to turn a few of her braincells to mush. Or I could just do what I did to dear old Mummy and Daddy and slowly kill her heart until its last beat. Sounds fun.

[Hanna]

Tansa grinned. "Hey, fish-girl, I hope you know that little power of yours that you demonstrated back at the palace won't work on me anymore. I've been really thinking about it and I found a way to completely reverse its effects immediately."

[Kayla]

She felt her fin-ear twitch a little and she spun, glaring ice cold. "What?"
There's no way! My ability is completely fool-proof!

[Hanna]

"Not so tough now, are you?" she purred. "I hope you know, you only beat me because of that ability. Now that I can defend against it, you'll never defeat me again. So don't try anything," Tansa added, smirking.

[Kayla]

"I don't believe a word you say," she snapped, gripping her sword until her knuckles turned from pale blue to even an even lighter shade that resembled silver-white. "You think you're so smart? Well I'd like to see you even try to get past it."
Spouting lies again... just trying to throw me off so she can kill me.

[Hanna]

Tansa seemed confident that it would work, and there was only one way to find out. "Fine! Go ahead and test me," she hissed as she paced before the weapon wall. "Prove that you are pathetic." Better to just find out now, she thought, since I'm sure she'd end up trying it on me eventually anyway.

[Kayla]

Her mouth twisted into a snarl and her eyes went pure purple. She didn't care if Tansa died this time. Better the shifter than her. Instead of going for muscles, she went straight for heart cells. "Fine."

[Hanna]

I hope this works, she thought nervously. Tansa was watching for Natsumi's eyes to change like they did the first time. The instant she noticed it, she shifted her form several times, from bird, to hound, to Saikana. Nothing strange seemed to be happening to her. She didn't feel weak at all. Did it work? she thought.

[Kayla]

Natsumi felt the cells continually regenerating as fast as they were killed. However, she increased it instead of stopping.

[Hanna]

Tansa sensed something was wrong and shifted again quickly when she realized Natsumi was still using the ability. She became a fly for a second before changing to a serpent that hardly fit inside the room. She lashed out with her enormous tail, hoping that if she hit Natsumi, she'd stop the attack.

[Kayla]

Sumi struck down with her blade, focusing her energy on the area around the gash. Even a shifter couldn't heal instantly. "Take this!" she shouted. She did get some cuts from the fins, but she braced herself for it and her blade had taken the impact's force.

[Hanna]

Tansa hissed and returned to cat form, sitting down to lick her tail. "I told you that ability won't work anymore, you idiot. I guess Saikana are much dumber than I thought." She paused, snickering. "Me strong, you not. You no understand?" she purred mockingly.

[Kayla]

"Me smart, you jerk." She muttered, eyes remaining pure purple. She forced herself to calm before using... less than appropriate words towards Tansa.
