The forest was dark, little light broke the canopy. What did manage to get through lit the path enough to se where one was going. In the distance you hear wild animals, most seem far off. The Mousekit peeks up from your pocket, taking in the view.

Talem sighed. This area was getting on his nerves. He looked at to the sky to see only the trees. Life seemed to be worse in this area, and almost uncomfortable. The little Mousekit was still with him, and it was a surprise that Tela didn't eat him.

The Mousekit looked up with at Talem and gave a small squeak. A series of noises sounded in the distance. The Mousekit retreated into Talem's pocket. It knew as long as it stayed there it was safe. The forest gave an eerie feeling, as if it the trees themselves mourned of a former time and urged the three to turn back.

Tela seemed to strain against Talem's control. He motion Tela forward, and he slowly moved, not sure. The nosies didn't scare Talem, but the thought of being lost in this forest was a bit more than what he wanted to handle.

The light from the forest entrance was fading. Soon the whole way back seemed to obscure into the darkness, leaving you only to forge ahead. You soon come to a patch where the canopy is so thick, it blocks out all light. You can see the sun light break through at a distance but what's in between is unknown.

Talem could only imagine what was inbetween the distance. Tela moved without fear now. Talem couldn't believe how much he wished he had the sun light, but yet it looked so far away, but he wasn't going to push Tela into a run.

You hear creatures run past you in the darkness. Some go by close but don't seem to bother you. Suddenly something bumps into Tela hard, nealry nocking you over. The culprit runs off, unscathed by the collision. The sunlight gets closer and you can make out the trees near the exit.

Talem almost flipped off the saddle when Tela hit the creature. Talem cursed and ignored it as it walked away. Tela started towards the light again. Near the edge.

You exit the darkness to find a tree with a strange feature. A series of comb like chanmbers were hanging from a branch. this structure was on several other branches. The mousekit peeps out of your pocket, senseing more light. It sees the structures and dives back into your pocket, alarmingly squeaking.

Talem wasn't to sure what was hanging from the trees, and he wasn't going to test his luck. He moved Tela further away from the trees, hoping that they weren't something that followed. He laughed himself when he realized that he was talking about a tree following him.

Behind you you see a series of insects flying out of the tree. They are about a foot long each and as they draw closer you see they are a swarm of Jacontees. Static rages from the spikes on their tails, enraged that the pair have invaded their nest territory.

Talem turned on Tela's saddle and gritted his teeth. "Holy Sh-!" Tela jerked forward, looking around the forest. Talem looked around and tried to hold on. He yelled to Tela, "Look for a pond!" Tela tried to look for the pond.

The swarm chases you, lightning surging from their tales. You eventually come to a river. the water isn't too deep, no more than knee high, but the water is fast. The Mousekit looks out of your pocket and squeaks rapidly. Take to the river! It suddenly says with it's mind.

Talem looked around for the voice, but yet there was no one looking at him. He quickly leaped off Tela's saddle and landed in the river, laying in it. Tela plowed in and laid down as well, waiting for the danger to be gone.
