The Jacontees swarm Reaches the river bamk ant clicks furiously with their mandibles. After a few momments they turn and leave. They're gone now, you can get up before I wash downstream. The Mousekit said in an urgent voice. The river was forcing her from Talem's pocket, holding on by it's teeth and paws.

Talem burst from the water and gasped for air. He looked at the animal in his pocket and threw it to the land. He looked around for Tela and found the large animal laying on its side. He wasn't totally covered, but it made him look more like a log. He pulled him up, and looked to animal and yelled. "Talk!"

The mousekit coughed then shook the water from it's coat. You didn'y have to throw me you know. It said. The ducking underwater was unnecessary also, the river bank is the edge of their territory. I'm Muris, just a harmless mouskit. You had food so I decided to tag along.

"Well get out of my head." Talem laid down on his back, and sighed. He was soaked, and Tela was drying off too. Talem looked at Muris and made a smirk. "Well what do you want now?" Talem wasn't trying to be nasty.

I'm not in your head. I just can't speak your tongue with my voice. Muris said. He ran over and sat on Talem's chest. I want you to start a fire so we all don't catch a cold.

Talem rolled his eyes and looked to Muris. "How about you start the fire?" He knew the little guy wouldn't get very far without being lighted on fire himself. Talem laughed at his own though.

I can't start a fire, I'm to small to gather the branches Muris said. He ignored the fact he had no way of starting the fire, trying to throw talem off guard. A fire is for just as much your benefit as mine

Talem slowly got up and walked around, getting small branches. Talem didn't get near the bushes. Talem didn't mind making a fire, and he did it quickly. He soon was sitting by the fire and Tela was curled up behind him soon.

Now was that so hard? Muris asked as he walked up. He sat next to Talem and let his fur dry. So where we heading anyway?

"Out of this blasted forest." Talem was talking to this animal like it was human, and he shouldn't have. It was just an animal...an animal with a name...

You have no clue where that is , do you? Muris asked. Well I lived here and the Ruins for some time. I can act as a guide, for a cost of course.

Tela growled at Muris. Talem looked at him and said, "Sure, here is the cost. You show us where to go, or Tela over here gets a little snack." Talem wasn't going to pay this animal anything of his.

Muris rolled his eyes. You can't pay the cost of a simple meal or snack along the way? He asked. I didn't mean gems, I have no purpose for them. Being a snack didn't appeal to Muris, he hoped he could talk his way out.

"As long as me and Tela get food first. The rest is for you." Talem sighed and rolled onto his side, so that his back started to dry off. He yawned, suddenly feeling tired with all of the walking and travelings they were doing. But the thing was, that this was not going to get any easier any time soon.

The light that seeped throught the canopy became a a orange color, a sign that they had entered the twilight hours and night would soon be upon them. Muris gave a slight movement that resembled a shrug. Whatever you sayHe said. I suggest we camp for now, you got the fire and it would see senseless to make another down the road.
