Star spotted a little cave further along. "We wait there she said. And walked over, letting the wolf trail behind as far as it saw fit.

She trotted ahead of Star and peered into the dark. I'll check to see if it's safe. The wolf seemed more interesting in helping now that she'd fed it.

Star shook her head, and felt into the darkness with her magic. "There is nothing there, only bats. " She sat down in the mouth of the cave and scratched the wolf behind it's ears, lifting it into her lap. She stroked and tickled it. "And now we wait."

The wolf didn't reply much to the scratching minus letting out a murring growl of enjoyment. She feebly wagged her tail a little then settled down. She looked out towards the mouth of the cave. We wait for what?

"Someone..." Star stroked the pup absentmindidly. "We should collect more wood."

She nodded, a simple and slight movement of the head, and then jumped off Star's lap. She ran out of the cave and started to sniff around for sticks.

Star stood up slower, and walked out of the cave. She tied the other end of the rope to a tree, leaving as much rope free as possible. She began to collect wood and stacked it neatly at the mouth of the cave.

The wolf pup piled up some sticks and carried them as close to the cave's mouth as the rope would allow. As soon as she had a good amount of kindling she sat and waited.

Star scratched the wolf behind the ears again. "What do you like as a treat?" she asked.

Star smiled, but continued scratching the wolf, not making a move for any meat. She lifted the wolf up, and tied it to an outcrop of rock, again on a very short rope, with limited movement. "I have some things to do. Wait here." Star didn't move far from the cave. Climbing up a tree just out side, she scanned the world around, looking for movement. Not seeing anything, she jumped down again, and walked back to the cave, putting her head in her hands. I don't know what to do. I can't go back without a hero, but what is the chance I am going to find one anywhere?
