Faster. You are slowing down. Star snapped at Accalia. Your endurance is useless.
Star slid the opal blade at her hip from its sheath and looked at the edge. It was as sharp and as fine as ever, but she began sharpening it slowly and deliberatly.

Accalia picked up the pace, driving herself forward. She worried that the blade would be used on her and moved her legs even faster, kicking up sand in an effort to drive forward. As soon as she reached the rock she turned around, hardly stopping but keeping an eye on Star. Accalia searched her for either approval or disapproval.

Star noticed Accalia's nervousness, and decided to play on it. She put her stone away, and held the blade in her hand, testing its weight. In one movement she stood, and threw it hard towards Accalia, so it landed in the sand directly before Accalia, forcing her to stop in her tracks. That will do. Bring me my blade back.

Accalia frozen her tracks. Even though she was hot and wanted to pant she found she couldn't breathe. After a moment she regained herself, grabbing the grip of the sword in her teeth. After a moment she heaved it from the ground and brought it to Star.

Star sighed at Accalia's slowness, and sheathed her blade, wiping the flat against her leg to brush of the sand. She poured a little water into a bowl and pushed it infront of Accalia. Drink, and take the bowl in when your done. Keep an eye on my pack. I'm going to explore this small oasis and see if I can find some edible plants. Star quickly moved off, out of site. It didn't take her long to find a small rush-like plant which unrolled to give a soft mushy substance within. She scrapped a few clean, enjoying the sweet fresh taste.

Accalia licked the bowl dry then looked at it sadly. She ten pkeit up in her mouth and crawled back into the cave. Accalia sat near Star's pack, guarding it from what she did not know, and waiting for Star's return.

Out of sight of the cave entrance, Star morphed into the large female Dire Wolf, before bounding back towards the cave. She just squeezed in and looked sadly at Accalia.
I couldn't see you before. Star was always around and Asim needed my help.

Accalia perked up. It's ok, your here now. She said. This desert is tough. It's so hot and arid, I'm afraid I may not make it out if we can't find enough food and water along the way. Accalia layed down, depressing as she spoke. The training out here is much tougher too. I can't keep disappointing Star.

The training is hard, but you are stronger than you think you are. If you keep being strong, you will find you get much out of everything you do. As for food and water, there is plenty here, which will keep you going a while. Be brave my little one.
Star touched noses with Accalia softly, before lying down next to her.
I can't stay long, Star is bound to return soon.

Accalia nuzzled against the she-wolf. It comforted her to have approval from someone. It also rejuvinated her confidence. I will make it, I won't let this desert take me. She said. I'll step up my training so Star doesn't either.

That's my darling. Star lay in silence for a little while, before padding to the entrance. I have to go.

Accalia whimpered but gave a reluctant nod. Come back soon. She said. And if you could somehow give Star some guidance to safety when we leave this oasis, it would be nice.

Star tilted her head softly. I'll do my best. Don't let yourself be corrupted, but don't fight either. I'm worried about you. I can't help it. She looked once more at Accalia, softly, yet with a sense of sorrow, before padding out of the cave. She broke into a run as soon as she was free, until she was well out of sight of the cave.

Accalia gave a determined nod. I won't, she said. She then remembered the lizadr they came to in the desert. Fight, Star hasn't let me so far. How long am I to train till she will let, or force, me to fight? feeling the ned to stretch, Accalia stood up and walked around Star's things, not going too far so she wouldn't be in trouble when Star got back.

Star was wary of Accalia's presence, she didn't want to change into a human now, as she wanted to keep her secret safe from Accalia for a little while yet. She transformed into a bird, something she could do without being seen by Accalia as her form wouldn't grow beyond the rock she was crouched behind, and she flitted away into the sky. Her wings were a sandy gold and she looked like the perfect desert bird.
She landed around the rock that contained the cave, out of Accalia's sight and changed quickly. It would take her a few minutes to walk back round but she didn't mind. She could speed it up by jogging. It's time she did some proper training anyway, and this would be a warm up.
She knew there was slightly more coverage round one side, so she jogged in that direction, hoping that she could get past Accalia without her spotting so she could pick up what she had gathered before returning to the cave.
